North Wales Scrambles

Scotland’s Winter Mountains with one axe

A guide to thirty journeys through the Scottish mountains – journeys that can be done with a single axe, in a traditional mountaineering style. All are easily accessible and possible to complete within a winter’s day.

The guide sticks to a very simple design throughout, with detailed maps and untampered with photos that can transport you to the winter mountains from the comfort of an armchair.

All the classic mountaineering ridges have been included, such as An Teallach, Liathach and the Aonach Eagach, along with the big gullies of the Northwest.
The book also features a handful of easier journeys, providing a nice step-up from winter walking.

North Wales Scrambles

A pocket guidebook with descriptions for 50 of the best mountain scrambles in Snowdonia – a book to help you discover the outrageously good scrambling journeys that are possible through Snowdonia’s rugged landscape.

The guide is laid out in a clean and uncluttered format that is perfect for using out on the hill. The line of each scramble is shown on precisely drawn topos and approach routes are described with the help of bespoke maps.

All the well-known classic scrambles of the area are included, such as the North Ridge of Tryfan and the traverse of Crib Goch. The book also features a selection of excellent ‘off the beaten track’ scrambles – routes that will take you to the less-frequented cliffs and cwms of Snowdonia.
