Scotland’s Winter Mountains with one axe

A new guidebook describing 30 winter journeys in the Scottish mountains. All the selected routes are easily accessible and can be completed within a winter’s day.
Each can be done with a single axe, in a traditional mountaineering style.

The guide has been carefully laid out, observing the same clean and fresh design principle throughout (particularly pleasing to read from the comfort of an armchair).
It contains bespoke maps and 117 colour photographs.

All the classic mountaineering ridges have been included, such as An Teallach, Liathach and the Aonach Eagach, along with the big gullies of the Northwest. The book also features a handful of easier journeys, providing a nice step-up from winter walking.

North Wales Scrambles

A pocket guidebook providing descriptions for 50 of the best mountain scrambles in Snowdonia. All the selected routes are clearly shown on detailed mountain topos and their approaches are illustrated using detailed bespoke maps.

The guide is laid out in an easy-to-use, contemporary format (perfect for using on the hill) and is supplemented with 98 colour photographs showcasing Snowdonia’s lovely mountain scenery.

All the well-known classic scrambles of the area are included, such as the North Ridge of Tryfan and the traverse of Crib Goch. The book also features a selection of excellent ‘off the beaten track’ scrambles – routes that take the reader to the less-frequented cliffs and cwms of Snowdonia.
